Apparently all I had to do was whine and complain publicly and my daughter would relent to my wishes. Over the weekend she finally decided she was through crawling, and took her first true walking steps. The first few times were wobbly and unsure, but now, only 3 days since those first steps, she already seems much more graceful on her feet.
I didn't have good enough video otherwise I would have posted sooner. But here you go, our precious little daughter moving at the speed of ... the speed of ... an oompa-loompa.
Maybe now if I start complaining about her speech patterns maybe she'll start talking? Who knows.

She is learning to walk gracefully very quickly. Just be patient about her talking. My guess is she will not stop when she begins and I know what that will mean ;-).
Have a great week watching her steadily improve and become braver with each step.
