She wore an itsy bitsy ...

As promised, I said I would write about Megan's experience at the pool on Sunday. However, it was a day late in coming because I couldn't think of the best way to describe how it went. At least not as well as the following picture does.
So as you can tell, the day did not go so well. She looked extremely cute in her swimsuit but alas, on our one and only attempt at dunking her toes in the water she shrilled at the top of her lungs. Lest the other parents there start calling child services, we decided that we wouldn't push it that day and instead let her sleep in her stroller while we were at the pool.

I'm still not too sure why she was so freaked out. We both think she was especially cranky because she missed her morning nap, and even in the shade, the heat was heavy and made her body a little sticky. So maybe next time. Perhaps the help of a grandparent or two will have the powers to calm her in her next water exploration adventure. It made us sad, we so desperately want her to have a positive feeling about water ... especially as I watched little two and three-year-olds running around the pool, splashing around. She'll get it. Someday. Until then, we'll have to be content with her in cute outfits.

She'll grow to love it. Max was both petrified of grass and hated swimming his first summer (and he was 6-9 mos), but we can't keep him away or out of either these days, especially if he can find some mud! She looks so so good, I love the pics.

She is changing so much... I can actually see features of both Brian and Jillian in her now on a regular basis. In the bottom picture today, for example, I see Brian's brow and stare, and then I also see how she holds her fingers is very much like Jillian. So interesting (and cute too)!

It's so cool to hear comments like that. I hear that she looks like me a lot but I imagine people are almost forced to say things like that. It's better to see what exactly you think looks like me. Since I rarely look at my own face it's hard to notice myself in her to some degree.

Although Jillian and I did say the other day she holds her pinkies out like Jillian. Miss Manners would be impressed.
