Buy me some peanuts and similac

Okay so technically she drinks Nestle's Good Start but the rhyme works better the other way.  In any event, Megan took in her first baseball game, and luckily for her she got to see the family team, the St. Louis Cardinals bash the Cincinnati Reds. Woo Hoo! But to be honest, I don't think she really 'saw' much of the game. The field was probably a big green blur to her. However she probably had a great time staring at the bald spot of the gentleman in the seat below us. So there's that.

We had free tickets thanks to our friend Jake. He was performing (perhaps some of you received our Christmas CDs a few years ago with him singing the opening track) before the game and thus had some free tickets he passed along to us. So we had a great time talking with him, playing with the baby, and playing the role of experts as he and his wife expect their first child later this month.

But Megan enjoyed the baseball game far more than the pool experience. After eating at the start of the game she promptly fell asleep through the first three innings. A very wise move on her part since there was relatively little action. She awoke just in time to see a Pujols home run and we clapped silently amidst the sea of Reds fans.

And for the next three innings she sat on our laps, wide-eyed at the surroundings. I'm always curious about what she processes, but who knows. The part she didn't like was the firework boom after a Reds home run. A little too loud for her liking. She made it all the way to the seventh-inning stretch before deciding she had enough for the night. All in all, quite the success.

Then as a present for us, she even slept all the way until 5:30 again.

I love those photos. Who took those again?

Jake

P.S. Sorry we missed you at the James Taylor concert. I had a gig of mine own.

P.P.S. Miss Megan is the best spitter-upper I've ever seen.

Too bad her first sporting event had to be a baseball game, albeit a REDS game.

At least she's getting to watch Euro2008.
