Happy Valentine's Day

Not sure how your Valentine's Day is going, but mine might be the best ever.

Jillian woke me up about a half-hour before my alarm went off. She told me the baby had been kicking it's little heart out on both sides of her belly and she placed my hand on her stomach to feel it. Now despite what parenting books may tell you about feeling baby movements in the 22nd week, we're in week 30 and I've barely felt her move. Inwardly I've been devastated, because my need for tactile sensation has been craving this 'womb touching' bonding moment for a LONG time now. I'm all about instant gratification. I CAN'T wait eight weeks to feel my baby move, I want it now damnit.

Anyway, this morning our little Mia Hamm was tap dancing all over the place. Her feet would bounce up against my hand and send ripples across my palm. There were about 4-5 kicks in a one-minute span. Such a surreal experience as I'm slowly waking up from sleep and feeling our baby moving around.

What an awesome gift. Thanks, Jill.
