Mother's Day already?!?!
YES I realize it's now June, and Mother's Day was like three weeks ago, but I've been behind in my posts, and so before it gets BEYOND acceptably late I needed to post some shots from Mother's Day, especially since Jillian's brother, John, came for a visit. The good news is I'm not as bad as these guys, my friend Jeff who just posted his May 5th podcast (which coincidentally referenced this VERY blog site, so I need to step up my posting rates).
The day started well enough for Jillian. Megan wakes up around 6:30 regardless of the day. She's oblivious to the wonders of the weekend. So most weekends we split Megan duties so the other can sleep in for awhile. Obviously Jill got to sleep in while Megan got changed and we ventured downstairs to play with her toys.
Megan gnoshed on some apple juice and cinnamon toast and she whispered to me (hyperbole) that her mommy would appreciate some breakfast too. Of course, in typical ironical happenstance, Jillian came barreling down the stairs as we were putting the butter on the toast. So I had to 'yell' at her to go back upstairs so Megan and I could give her breakfast. I gave Megan the task of carrying the cards for Jill, while I carried the toast ... however, Megan thought the opposite would be a better idea. And she thought the best way to carry the toast was in her mouth. Poor Jill. But she smiled really big and pretended to love every second of it.
And not to short-change Jill but with John here, there were some big time family events to take in as well. Megan took in her SECOND Tulip Time parade (the second pic below is from her first tulip time parade). Neither one of which she'll ever remember. I've been with Jillian for nearly 12 years now and have yet to see the parade. Maybe next year?
Megan also had her first taste of blueberry pie that weekend. She loved it. I'm scared we're creating a daughter with a sweet tooth. Leave it to Megan to turn even Mother's Day into a day centered around her.
