Not everyday is full of roses ...

... some days you need to fertilize the roses too. That was today.

When I woke up just before 6 am, Jillian had already gotten up to handle the typical morning duties of getting Megan out of bed, changed, fed, and ready for the day. I assumed it was an otherwise normal day. When she came in and handed me Megan, it was obvious she had received a bath. Apparently my befuddled look was rather obvious, so Jillian informed me that Megan had pooped through her entire diaper at some point in the night and it had gotten all over her back, etc. Ewww. Jillian gets extra gold stars for dealing with that mess.

So that's what greeted us today.

This afternoon, Megan's teacher informed us that she had FOUR 'runny' diapers throughout the day and so it wasn't a good day for our little baby. She's already on medication to combat an ear infection and now she had some other bug. The daycare said a stomach virus was going around so we're hoping it's just that. So for the next few days we have to cross our fingers and hope she doesn't have any more 'blow outs' and keep her on a very basic diet over the next few days.

One of the repercussions of all of this is that Megan needs to be comforted all day long. She refuses to even sit near us at night. It's hold her or listen to her cry. She babbles a version of 'mama' and holds her little hands out ... how can you not hold her? The good news is that we're headed to St. Louis to visit the grandparents so she will have more than enough ample hands to hold her.

(In a personal aside ... the Parsons' would like to congratulate the Lunns for the arrival of their 'little' baby girl, Sara Lyn. You can follow her story here or click on the link over on the right side w/ Megan's other baby/toddler pals)

I like the advertising. Have a great Thanksgiving. When you get back, we will have to get the girls together.
