On the road again...

So the blog has been a little bare for the past week or so...but not due to a lack of topics to write about. Megan has experienced quite a bit over the past two weeks. The problem has been finding time for either Brian or I (and lets be realistic, more likely Brian) to write about these events.

So instead of trying to completely re-live the past two weeks, I created a list of topics for "blog entries that could have been" ... pictures to come once the camera returns to Cincinnati...
  • Megan's adventures in both St. Louis and Holland over the past two weekends
  • Megan's first attempt to eat cereal (which now means Megan "eating" cereal ALMOST every evening)
  • Megan's new "big girl" bouncy toy -- thankfully the most "under-stated" excersaucer available at Babies R Us
  • Megan's return trip from Holland with a detour and extra evening stay in South Bend with the Sampson's
  • Megan meets not one, but TWO new babysitters in one week while "Uncle Pete" comes to visit
And now, to top all of that, Brian and Megan are off on another adventure - Megan's first airplane trip! Friday morning I dropped both of them off at the Cincinnati airport to begin their adventure to visit Brian's grandparents in San Jose, California.

I have to give Brian big kudos for taking on this adventure. And thankfully for Brian, he and Megan met up with Gram in the Dallas airport (always nice to have an extra set of hands).

Based on the reports from Brian, the trip to California was successful. A minor melt down by Megan on the descent into Dallas, but overall it sounds like air travel treated Megan as well as car travel. I am sure we will hear many more stories next week on the full trip.

So Megan has become a little traveler. So much in fact that Brian and I have started a tally of all the states Megan has visited to date:
1) Ohio
2) Indiana
3) Michigan
4) Illinois
5) Missouri
6) Kentucky
7) Texas (although Brian and I disagree on if this should count since it is just a lay over point)
8) California

And to come in the next three months...
9) Pennsylvania
10) New York
11) West Virginia
12) Virginia
13) Maryland
14) Washington DC

So if she kept up this page, Megan would visit all 50 states (+ DC) by the time she was 2 years, 3 months old. I am going to guess that won't happen -- but I think Megan will survive. Besides, who wants to see Montana anyway?

Nice to see the "Deep South" off that list. Probably should stay away from there.

I see D.C. on your travel list. I am now (again) a resident of the District.

So I will expect an email or something because I would like to formally introduce myself to Megan.

I didn't buy this frock coat for nothin'.
