Our Little Helper
Now that Megan is older, she's given more and more responsibility in helping out the family. But one 'chore' she actually chose for herself has been to set the table. One of us hands her the plates, but she reaches into the drawer, pulls out the silverware, and gets the napkins for the table. And as you can see above ... she is extremely proud with her ability to pitch in.
Anybody else have ideas on what types of chores a 2.5 year old kid can do around the house? I'd love to continue this desire of hers further if possible.

Sebastian is a pro at taking things to the garbage (diapers included) and recycling as well as helping us push/pull them both to and from the curb. He is my laundry champ, putting the dirties in, switching them, and pulling the dry laundry out (front loading). He is great at cleaning up in general, which is something we do nightly in the living room, his room, and the bathtub toys. It's truly a blessing to see the pride they take in honoring the family as a contributing member. :) P.S. Why does Megan suddenly look like she's 8 in this pic?? Too adorable!!
Well, I started ironing at 5, so it might be too soon for that, but I bet she could handle sweeping with a hand broom and dustpan! I saw the kids on Jon & Kate Plus 8 doing that (before Jon got the boot). And what about dusting?
I hope she doesn't look at back at this blog comment and think I was the cause of her indentured servitude at such a young age... :)
Maggie likes to help sweep (in fact, her desire to sweep often gets her to clean up her toys, because she knows we pick up before sweeping). She also likes to dust, take things to the trash or recycling, switch the laundry, wipe off counters, and help start the dishwasher. She really likes to help with the baby (fetching burp cloths, pacifiers, picking out clothes, etc.). In terms of daily chores, I'll be looking to see what your readers post for ideas!
I have TONS of suggestions on stuff that needs to be done around my house. Is she available for travel?
My nephews each have their own list of chores...Reva helps us with clean up every evening (straightening up toys, etc.).
The boys help load the dishwasher, gather laundry, etc.
